• We stayed 4 nights in a deluxe studio pool view room. We really liked everything about the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was very nice; even more than we expected. The pool was really relaxing and very well kept up and the surrounding area was really pretty with all the flowers and trees. We checked out the marina and saw lots of manatees and even some alligators! There was a free buffet breakfast each AM. It was very good, not a simple continental one but a full hot breakfast. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like except having to leave!!

  • We spent a couple of nights at Port of the Islands in early January. It’s certainly not the newest or fanciest place we’ve ever stayed, but all in all it was very pleasant. The room was clean and spacious, and the king-size bed was very comfortable. One of the highlights was a boat ride into the connecting waterways with “Captain Al.” We were on the first trip of the day, so we saw lots of birds and other wildlife. He carefully glided into an adjoining marina so we could see the manatees resting there. Our guide was experienced and knowledgeable about the water, with interesting stories about the area. The breakfast buffet was great…custom-made omlettes, fruit, coffee. Did I mention the beautiful pool?

  • “This Hotel/resort is really amazing its situated along the Tamiami trail highway in the middle of the Everglades, features a marina , all important eco-tours and Airboats rides are close by ( try to do those promoted by the Hotel itself)
We got the luxury double bed suite which is a very compact but cozy room with view over the Marina. At night its really quiet and there is no light pollution so you are able to gaze on the star filled sky. The staff of the hotel is truly welcoming and friendly ( Thank you again Miss Jeanne for the help provided ) It all had a hearty familiar feel to us .. honest smiles and true dedication. Breakfast is a feast .. with fresh made egg dishes a la minute …
Oversized heated pool to unwind or relax in between the lush trees and palms
In the Everglades this is the be….
For a Hotel in this category you get your value beyond expectation ……The only really minor thing was the internet….. WIFI only available in the Lobby .. so we had to go to the lobby every time to go online….. ( at 4am not really funny)”

  • “The resort had beautiful rooms that included a kitchenette, a lovely pool, a delicious breakfast, helpful staff, and convenient location to our Everglades Area Tour. Check out the tour. We kayaked through mangrove tunnels, wet saw grass prairies, and a cypress swamp. Saw a ton of alligators, a bobcat, herons, egrets, moor hens and coots, endangered snail kites and wood storks. Our guide Chris was extremely knowledgeable not only about the wildlife and plant life, but also told entertaining stories about the local history and area legends.”
